New Review! Romanov by Samaire Provost 4 Cranky Stars

RomanovRomanov by Samaire Provost
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Cranky Stars

A dark and evil presence looms and no creature of supernatural origin is safe from it. Anna, as well as the rest of her family are very powerful vampires who are over 100 years old. Perhaps you've heard of them... They are the Romanovs. The story begins with Anna's father dying in a battle to the death against a powerful threat to his family. This causes Anna and the rest of her family to go into hiding. While in hiding Anna meets and instantly falls in love with Eric. With some twists and turns regarding the ever present danger, she must protect Eric at all costs.

This is an interesting twist to the history and ongoing story the Romanov family. Working with the story line of families feuding and adding the vampire aspect makes the story easy to get into. There are also other paranormal creatures mentioned so it keeps the story from being about only vampires. However, there is a lot more romance than I originally anticipated and it seems to take over the entire story throughout most of the book. There are times that the romance is so dominant that everything else seems to get completely lost. It isn't a bad story, but I wish I had been more prepared for the in your face romance.

I also wish there were more details about the Romanov family itself. There are no major typos and the story flow is decent. The different points of view make it a little awkward but it ties together toward the end and helps it make sense. Overall it's a good story and a fresh idea.
