New Review! The Making of Gabriel Davenport by Beverley Lee, 5 Cranky Stars

The Making of Gabriel DavenportThe Making of Gabriel Davenport by Beverley Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

***** 5 Cranky Stars *****

An antique box bought as a holiday memento by Stu Davenport, destroys the family.

Saved by the timely arrival of Reverend Noah Isaacs, Gabriel is given a home at The Manor, owned by the eccentric Edward Carver, expert on all things .......not normal!

The Manor is also a haven for children who have abilities which the "normal" world finds uncomfortable and ruled by housekeeper Ella who makes sure that all their dietary and housekeeping needs are met. This then is where Gabriel is home-schooled, protected and loved by an eclectic cast of characters.

At the age of 15, Gabriel becomes curious and starts investigating, which sets off a chain of events.

This was an awesome read which moved at breakneck speed, totally unpredictable, and nothing was what I thought it would be. This is a paranormal thriller that made my heart pound in my throat!
The book is beautifully written with virtually no typos and the book's title becomes clear in the very last sentence.

This book earns 5 Cranky stars and my congratulations to the author on her debut novel.
